So far the search I have done has found that you can use NetApp DS14MK2-AT as local storage using 1 or 2 4G FC controllers to access. But I have not been able to find out if the same is possible for an EMC CX-4PDAE in the same manner. I have found these units populated with 14-15 300GB drives for 300.00 an easy and cheep array, but its not much good or stays cheep if you have to purchase a head unit/storage processor.
